Call of the Wild: Ram Trucks & Mossy Oak Announce New Partnership

Posted on June 4th, 2010 by Ram Zone

In an industry swamped with flashy accessories and frivolous option packages, Ram stands out for our steadfast commitment to core customer values. We read, we watch, we listen to what moves you – and we do our damndest to deliver it. We gave you the Ram Box for your dusty tools and muddy boots, we gave you extra interior space so your buddies don’t have to do any more “bonding” than they want to, and we gave you two of the most reliable powertrains in the industry so you’re never up your favorite fishing creek without a paddle. Now, we’re also giving you the holiest union since the Ram/Cummins venture with the official launch of the Ram Trucks & Mossy Oak partnership.

As per the agreement, Ram will become the official presenting sponsor of a select group of Mossy Oak productions set to air on the Outdoor Channel and Pursuit Channel. Later this year, a collaborative effort between Ram Trucks, Mossy Oak, and Mopar will yield some cool new gear designed specifically for you avid outdoorsmen. “Most of our Ram Truck owners proudly participate in hunting and fishing,” explained Fred Diaz, President and CEO – Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Not only can we speak directly to their passions through these television programs, but we also demonstrate our commitment to the outdoors and outdoors enthusiasts.”

“No one appreciates the power of a ‘Brand’ as much as we do at Mossy Oak,” said Ronnie “Cuz” Strickland, EVP of Mossy Oak. “The folks at Ram Trucks are as proud of their brand as we are, and rightfully so. To have Ram step up to communicate with hunters and outdoorsmen through our Mossy Oak programming speaks volumes about their commitment to the outdoors and we are extremely proud to partner with Ram to spread their message.”

Rams Gone Wild (Oh Yeah, There’s Video)

Posted on May 11th, 2010 by Ram Zone

While we were busy flirting with an imminent, dusty death in Moab trying to capture that perfect shot (pro tip: invest in a good zoom lens), our friends over at the Chrysler Blog were filming some choice footage of our custom Rams crawling the desert. In addition to the jacked-up, armored-out Ram Runner and the Moparized Power Wagon, we were also running a bone stock Power Wagon.

FLO TV

Finally, Get Live TV on the Road!

Posted on January 21st, 2010 by Ram Zone

It’s an age-old quandary: It’s time to hit the road for that family trip, but the playoffs are on. What to do? At long last, now you no longer have to choose between mobility and entertainment. Last month, Chrysler became the first automaker to offer live mobile television inside its vehicles through FLO TV Auto Entertainment, which allows you to browse up to 20 channels — from ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX to ESPN, MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon — using a wireless remote control; the system’s tiny antenna is practically hidden (unlike most roof-mounted satellites). The Mopar package costs $629 (plus installation) and is offered on new Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep vehicles — and can even be installed on some 2009 models. Check with your local Ram dealer for more details.

Mitch Rall’s Ultimate Family Truck

Posted on January 15th, 2010 by Ram Zone

Mitch Rall traded in his ’04 dualie for a new ’09 half-ton Ram as soon as they were available, three weeks before the SEMA Show. It wasn’t just about wanting a new truck — it was more about creating something unique that no one else had. Mitch works at Ekstensive Metalworks of Houston, so he’s used to elaborate projects like this. Still, as you can imagine, it’s no easy task. First he and his crew had to disassemble everything. And we mean everything — the front, sheetmetal, grille, bumpers, bed, interior, and rear. Then the real work began. They modified the suspension and dropped the truck down. They got the fuse box out of the way, mounted two Kinetik batteries, and relocated the brake lines in the front of the truck.

And these were only the first few steps; a lot more work went into getting the Ram ready for the show — Sport Truck Magazine has a great recap of the whole process. At SEMA, it was featured as a part of Chrysler’s special Mopar Alley section, but sadly, Rall couldn’t make it to the show himself — although he had a good excuse: His wife was giving birth to their son. Now the newest Rall certainly has the coolest ride in the neighborhood!

Ram Shows Off a Little at SEMA

Posted on November 13th, 2009 by Ram Zone

Ram is made to get the job done, but that doesn’t mean it can’t shine up for a trip to Vegas. The Mopar guys went the luxury route for the Ram Bianco Image Vehicle.  Slick Arctic Ice pearl paint compliments the sporty Mopar body kit and lowering kit for a unique, upscale exterior. Don’t be fooled, this Ram is still rough and tough underneath with a 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 and growling dual exhaust.
